As the 2025–26 school year begins, Orlando City is proud to share that six Academy prospects have committed to play Division I college soccer at programs across the country:
Jake Basinet – F – Clemson University
Jake Basinet, a native of San Diego, California, has committed to Clemson University of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) after spending two seasons with the Orlando City Academy. Clemson finished the previous season with a 15-3-4 record, narrowly missing the ACC Tournament title in a penalty shootout loss to Wake Forest. Basinet joins the Tigers following a standout year, having won the 2024 Generation adidas Cup with Orlando City's U-18 team and finishing as the top scorer in the 2024–25 MLS NEXT season. Clemson has recently become a reliable pipeline for Orlando City, with the club selecting midfielder Joran Gerbet and OCB defender Titus Sandy Jr. from the university in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft.
Tyler Bush – D – West Virginia University
Left back Tyler Bush is headed to the Mountain State after committing to play collegiate soccer at West Virginia University in Morgantown. The Mountaineers finished the 2024 season with a 13-2-7 record, capturing the Sun Belt Championship and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. A native of Miami, Florida, Bush spent three seasons with the Orlando City Academy, where he helped the U-18 squad win the Generation adidas Cup in May 2025. He now joins the alma mater of Orlando City forward Yutaro Tsukada, a 2024 MLS SuperDraft selection.
Diego Colon – F – Long Island University
Diego Colon, a striker from Queens, New York, is returning to his home state after committing to Long Island University in Brooklyn. After spending one season with the Orlando City Academy, Colon joins LIU following a 2024 campaign in which the Sharks posted an 8-5-7 overall record and went 5-1-2 at home at LIU Soccer Park.
Theo Franca – F – St Louis University
Forward Theo Franca has committed to play collegiate soccer at Saint Louis University, a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. A native of Nova Lima, Brazil, Franca spent three seasons with the Orlando City Academy before joining a Billikens program known for producing MLS talent such as Brian McBride, Kip Keller and Tim Ream. In 2024, Saint Louis posted an 8-5-8 record, finishing second in the Atlantic 10 and earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
TJ Jeffreys – GK – Dartmouth College
Goalkeeper TJ Jeffreys has committed to Dartmouth College, a member of the Ivy League. In 2024, the Big Green finished with a 5-8-3 overall record, including a 4-3-3 mark at Burnham Field in Hanover, New Hampshire. A four-year graduate of the Orlando City Academy, Jeffreys trained with Orlando City B of MLS NEXT Pro and also served as a goalkeeper coach for one of Orlando City’s Youth Soccer affiliates before heading to The Granite State.
Omar Robbana – D – University of Vermont
After one season with the Orlando City Academy and a Generation adidas Cup title with the U-18s in 2025, defender Omar Robbana has committed to play collegiate soccer for the University of Vermont, the reigning NCAA national champions. The Catamounts finished the season with a 16-2-6 overall record, including a 4-1-3 mark in the America East Conference, tying for the conference title before making a historic run to claim their first-ever national championship. Robbana was also recently invited to Canada’s U-18 Youth National Team camp.
