Purple Pipeline: Orlando City U15s, U17s wrap up strong showing at MLS NEXT Generation adidas Cup

Orlando City's under-15 and under-17 sides wrapped up a strong showing at the MLS NEXT Generation adidas Cup at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. over the weekend.

Headlined by leading scorer Gustavo Caraballo, who finished with a team-high five goals for the tournament, the U15s defeated Seattle in the Round of 16 and Columbus in the quarterfinals to reach the final four before falling 1-0 to Philadelphia on Saturday. They wrapped up the tournament with a 4-0 loss to KRC Genk in the third-place match on Sunday.

The U17s fell to NYCFC in the Round of 16 to move to the Showcase bracket for their final three matches of the tournament against the Houston Dynamo, Strikers FC and Remo Stars.

Majed Abdullah led the way for the Lions with two goals in a 2-1 win over Houston on Friday and one in a penalty-shootout loss to Strikers FC on Saturday before finishing with an incredible four-goal performance in a 4-0 victory over Remo Stars on Sunday.

MLS NEXT Pro: Orlando City B sits atop Eastern Conference after third straight win

Jack Lynn netted his second goal of the season and Favian Loyola scored his first in highlight-reel fashion to lead Orlando City B to a 2-0 shutout victory on Sunday against Inter Miami CF II.

The win was the third straight for the Lions (3-0-0, 9 points), putting them alone at the top of the Eastern Conference standings.

OCB opened the scoring inside of five minutes for the third time in as many matches as Loyola whipped in a cross from the right side that found the waiting head of Jack Lynn for the finish. Loyola then doubled the advantage himself off a feed from Juninho, dribbling through a trio of Inter Miami defenders on his way to slotting a shot past Miami's CJ dos Santos for the goal.

The Lions will look to extend its league-best win streak on Sunday when it travels to face Atlanta United 2 for the inaugural meeting between the two sides in a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff.
