Orlando Pride Signs Kaylie Collins as National Team Replacement Player

ORLANDO, Fla. (June 4, 2021) — The Orlando Pride has signed goalkeeper Kaylie Collins as a National Team Replacement Player (NTRP), it was announced today. Collins has been signed ahead of the Pride’s Sunday match at the Washington Spirit, with goalkeeper Erin McLeod unavailable for the match due to Canada National Team duty.

Collins, 23, was selected with the Pride’s final selection in the 2021 NWSL Draft (No. 34 overall) out of the University of Southern California. After being drafted, the goalkeeper remained at USC to complete the Spring season, which saw the Trojans advance to the NCAA Tournament, ultimately falling to Ole Miss in penalty kicks.

As a redshirt sophomore in 2018, Collins was named the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year, leading the conference in regular-season shutouts and posting the ninth-best goals against average (0.506) in the NCAA. Over her time with USC, Collins earned United Soccer Coaches All-America honors, a Top-Drawer Soccer Best XI nod and an appearance on the All-Region First Team and was a two-time All Pac-12 honoree. In four seasons of action with the Trojans, Collins totaled 66 appearances, registering 210 saves, 27 shutouts and a 0.791 goals against average.

The Pride kickoff against the Spirit at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 6, with the match streaming on Paramount+ and iHeart Radio.
