Benji Michel Scores in 1-1 Draw Against Atlanta United

Recap ATL 2

ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 5, 2020) - Orlando City SC (4-2-4, 16 points) earned a 1-1 draw on Saturday night against Atlanta United (3-4-2, 11 points) at Exploria Stadium.

Benji Michel scored the lone goal for the Lions in the match, getting on the end of a shot from Daryl Dike to redirect the ball into the back of the net for his second finish in as many contests. With the assist, Dike is now tied for the team lead with Chris Mueller and Mauricio Pereyra at three apiece.

Head Coach Oscar Pareja:

“Good match. In spite of the frustration of conceding that goal in the last two, three minutes of the game knowing how we worked for the three points during the whole game; it’s difficult. But at the same time, I think we need to have calmness and see where we are. I thought today was another good demonstration of what Orlando is doing and once again anything I can say won’t soften the frustration that we have because it’s painful after you have the domination that we had in the first half and the options that we had during the game. But once again the game told us again that we have to have resolution and finish the games. That’s what we need to do, but we’ll take it. I have said it in the best moments that we’re proud of the boys and I will say it today in this bitter moment when we gave up those three points at the end.”
