CHICAGO (Oct. 28, 2026) — Orlando City SC (12-13-7, 43 points) earned a 2-2 draw against Chicago Fire FC (15-10-7, 52 points) on Wednesday night at Soldier Field. The point keeps the Lions in an automatic playoff qualification position with two regular-season games remaining.

Orlando struck first just six minutes into the match. Midfielder Luís Otávio fed the ball up to Antoine Griezmann who then played Iván Angulo down the left wing. Angulo attacked the penalty area and finished from a tight angle, beating goalkeeper Chris Brady at the near post for his seventh MLS goal of the season. Griezmann’s assist marked his 12th consecutive MLS match with a goal contribution, tying the club record set by Martín Ojeda in 2025.

The Lions doubled their advantage as Otávio was involved again, initiating an attack with a ball to Vinícius Nogueira, who played Griezmann into space outside the box. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner turned and curled a precise finish to make it 2-0 and net his 15th goal across all competitions since joining Orlando City in the summer.

Chicago halved their deficit in the 57th minute as halftime substitute Jonathan Bamba headed home a cross from Leonardo Barroso at the far post. The Fire leveled the score 12 minutes later as Bamba turned provider, controlling a rebound from a cross into the box before laying it off for Maren Haile-Selassie to finish from the edge of the six-yard box.

Orlando City will remain on the road, facing Charlotte FC at Bank of America Stadium this Saturday, Oct. 31 (1 p.m. ET | Apple TV) to wrap up its two-match road trip.

Interim Head Coach Martín Perelman:

“I think it was a first half where we performed. The guys did a really good effort. [The] players defending did a complete job, Max [Crépeau] saved us a couple of times, which is his job. We were able to score, and then in the second half, of course, we were facing a really good team, a really good organization. It was obvious they were going to push, they are at their stadium. I think we defend and we couldn’t do it as we want... And then we fight until the end. We compete, we could score in transition, they as well. So, at the end of the day, it’s a point. We are not happy, but as well, we know how this is, how tough it’s on the road, coming to this stadium. Now it’s about looking forward, the next game, resting and preparing the next battle.”
