Back in the Mix

Kristen Edmonds returned to the starting lineup for the Pride on Saturday against Utah for the first time this season. After being sidelined with an injury in April, Edmonds made her first appearance since in the Club’s previous match against the Houston Dash on August 10. The midfielder now sits at 94 NWSL career appearances, with 61 of those coming as a member of the Pride, and nine finishes in her NWSL career, each of which have come in her time in Orlando.

Last Time in Chicago

In their last two visits to Chicago, the Pride have come away with victories on both occasions. The Pride earned their first victory at then-named Toyota Park on May 2 of last season with a 2-0 shutout behind goals from Chioma Ubogagu and Rachel Hill. They then followed up that performance later in the month by battling to a 5-2 victory over the Red Stars with a brace from Sydney Leroux and a goal apiece from Alex Morgan, Dani Weatherholt and Rachel Hill.

She’s Back...

Orlando Pride forward Alex Morgan returned to the pitch for the first time on Saturday since becoming a two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup Champion this past summer with the U.S. Women’s National Team. Morgan has registered 88 appearances in the NWSL and 52 with the Pride, trailing only Marta in Club history in goals scored with 18 in her near four seasons in Orlando.

Shot Stopper

With her seven saves against Utah on Saturday, Orlando Pride goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris came just one save shy of her season-high against the North Carolina Courage earlier this season. The total marked the highest Harris has recorded since returning from the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the most she’s tallied at home this season. The Orlando Pride captain is now six saves away from 400 in her NWSL career, currently sitting at 394.

You Know Jo

Orlando Pride midfielder Joanna Boyles spent her first season in NWSL with the Chicago Red Stars as a National Team Replacement Player. Boyles was selected by the Red Stars with the 25th pick in the Boston Breakers Dispersal Draft after being taken No. 32 overall in the 2018 NWSL College Draft by the Breakers before they ceased operations. While she did not appear for the Red Stars last season, the UNC-product has appeared in 12 matches for the Pride in 2019 with 10 starts, scoring a goal and registering two assists in that span.
