Orlando City B Earns First Result of the Season

MONTVERDE, Fla. (April 14, 2019) - Orlando City B (0-2-1, 1 point) secured its first draw of the season against Tormenta FC (2-1-2, 8 points) in a 1-1 result Sunday evening at Montverde Academy.

Defender Leonardo Simas, goalkeeper Juliano Chade, and forward Thiago Souza made their debuts for Orlando City B. The Brazilian natives played together at Club Athletico Paranaense before their arrival to Monteverde last weekend.

After several missed attempts during the first half, OCB’s forward Ates Diouf found an opening in the 59th minute, scoring his first professional goal. Diouf was a member of Orlando City’s U19 Development Academy.

Tormenta FC’s Lars Eckenrode scored in stoppage time, giving Tormenta their second draw of the season.

Orlando City B will complete their four-game homestand when they face Forward Madison FC on Friday, April 19. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at Montverde Academy.

UPDATE: June 10, 2020 - Major League Soccer announced it will restart the 2020 season with all 26 MLS clubs competing in the MLS is Back Tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida beginning July 8.
