Pride Goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe Heads to Sydney FC on Loan

Bledsoe

ORLANDO, Fla. (November 27, 2017) - Orlando Pride goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe has been loaned to Westfield W-League side Sydney FC, it was announced today. Bledsoe becomes the fifth Pride player to join Australia’s premier women’s league for the offseason.

“Aubrey had a fantastic season for us this year and we’re excited for her to continue her development in Australia. This is a great opportunity for her to get some more playing time,” Pride Head Coach Tom Sermanni said.  “I have no doubt Aubrey will go in and be a wonderful asset for Sydney FC.”

Bledsoe, 25, featured in 11 matches during the 2017 season, her second with the Pride. The Cincinnati native compiled a 5-4-2 record over the span, including two shutouts and the Week 12 NWSL Save of the Week. Bledsoe was honored with the team’s Comeback Player of the Year award earlier this month.

Bledsoe will return to the Pride for the start of the 2018 NWSL season.

Sydney FC returns to play on December 2, hosting Melbourne Victory in a match that kicks off at 12 a.m. ET.
