Five Different Lions Score In Six-Goal Offensive Explosion

Five Lions Score

Goals, goals and more goals. It’s safe to say the floodgates were open on Wednesday night at Orlando City Stadium.

Orlando City dismantled the New England Revolution, 6-1, in match that saw five different Lions find the back of the net. Kaká snagged a brace; Seb Hines scored a towering header; Antonio Nocerino and Yoshi Yotún netted their first goals in purple; and Dom Dwyer smashed home his first in the Fortress.

“It’s really good that we see multiple guys scoring,” Orlando City head coach Jason Kreis said after the match. “I think the number of players that are committed to our attacking moves has been better for a while now.”

Kreis continued:

“We’ve been unfortunate in some other games not to score more, so it’s good that on a night like tonight we reap some rewards for that. All the guys feel great and all the guys that scored feel a little bit of weight has been lifted off their shoulders as well.”

Credit New England - down a man for the majority of the match - for trying to hold off the relentless Lions attack. But the 10-men Revolution struggled to contain an Orlando City team that was absolutely flying around the pitch.

“We’ve proven that when the guys are committed, and we work really hard together, we can be a very good team,” Kreis added.

Six goals is an all-time Orlando City record for goals scored in a single match, and the Lions will be craving for more this Saturday against FC Dallas.
