City Concedes Late, Draw Atlanta United

Kaka’s screamer in the first half gave the Lions a 1-0 lead and, for the entirety of regulation time, Jason Kreis’ side looked like they would be leaving Bobby Dodd Stadium with three points.  

Orlando City were on the verge of victory until Hector Villalba equalized in stoppage time for Atlanta.

Dwyer Starts Alongside Larin

Earlier this week Orlando City CEO Alex Leitao announced the record signing of Dom Dwyer  from Sporting Kansas City. Dwyer received a hero’s welcome when he arrived in Orlando on Tuesday night, and the striker did not waste any time getting into the action on the field.

City head coach Jason Kreis elected to start Dom Dwyer against Atlanta on Saturday afternoon. He showed great promise alongside fellow striker Cyle Larin - who will now work to comprise one of the most lethal striking partnerships in MLS.

Orlando City fans traveled in numbers to show their undying support for the Club and help fuel the players to a hard-fought point on the road.

Six plus hours separate the Soccer Capital of the South from Atlanta, GA. Hundreds of Orlando City Fans made the trip up I-75 to support the men in Purple; their presence was definitely felt, and heard.


September 11, 2020: Major League Soccer has announced the 2020 regular season schedule through the end of September. From September 18-27, each MLS club will compete in three regular season matches. Additional 2020 MLS regular season matches will be announced pending further developments regarding travel protocols. Attendance at matches will be determined in accordance with applicable state and local guidelines.
