In a historic move for the Orlando Pride and the National Women’s Soccer League, the Orlando Pride acquired Brazilian Forward Marta on a two year contract with an option for a third. Widely considered the best to ever play the women’s game, Marta was named FIFA World Player of the year five consecutive times from 2006-2010.

City Acquires Luis Gil


On April 6, Orlando City acquired midfielder Luis Gil on loan from LigaMX side Querétaro Fútbol Club. The midfielder spent time with Jason Kreis in Real Salt Lake and provides an attacking threat for the Lions.
