Orlando City Match vs. New England Rescheduled Due to Weather

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 10, 2017) – Orlando City SC’s first road match of the season against the New England Revolution this Saturday, March 11, has been postponed due to extreme cold projected to hit the New England area over the weekend.

The match at Gillette Stadium will now be played on Saturday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m. ET.

The decision to postpone the match was made by Major League Soccer (MLS) and both clubs after forecasts of temperatures in the low 20s at kickoff, with a potential windchill in single digits. Additionally, Winter Storm Reggie is expected to bring heavy snow to southern New England on Friday.

UPDATE: March 19, 2020 - In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidance to postpone events involving more than 50 people over the next eight weeks, Major League Soccer has extended the postponement of its matches during this period of time. MLS remains focused on playing the entire 2020 season and is evaluating all options, including pushing back the end of the season and playing MLS Cup in December, as the league did prior to the 2019 season. The league is also identifying other available dates. Throughout this process, MLS will continue to prioritize the safety of our fans, players, employees and partners and to coordinate with federal and local public health authorities as well as other sporting organizations..
