Adam Bedell Trade

ORLANDO (AUGUST 6, 2015) – Orlando City SC has acquired forward Adam Bedell from Columbus Crew SC in exchange for its highest 2016 second round draft pick the Club announced today. Per Club and league policy, additional details were not disclosed.

“We’re looking forward to working with Adam,” said General Manager Paul McDonough. “We have seen him quite a few times over the last two years and played against him last preseason and U.S. Open Cup this year. Adam is a big athlete that brings a different look to our group of young striker options.”

The six-foot-seven striker – who has spent the 2015 campaign on loan with the Austin Aztex and the Richmond Kickers of the USL – registered an appearance this season in Columbus’ fourth round U.S. Open Cup contest against the Kickers, notching a brace in the team’s 3-1 victory.

After a stellar four-year career at the University of Detroit Mercy, Bedell was originally drafted by Crew SC in the third round of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, appearing 16 times in his rookie season.

In seven starts and nine substitute appearances, the forward scored twice, after making his debut during the team’s season opener on March 8, 2014.
