Orlando City Striker Cyle Larin Called Up to Canadian Men's National Team

ORLANDO – June 2, 2015 – Orlando City SC forward Cyle Larin has been called up by the Canadian Men's National Team (CMNT) for the second CONCACAF Preliminary Round of qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™.


After a brief training spell with the CMNT in Orlando, Larin will join head coach Benito Floro's 23-man squad for a home-and-away series against Dominica. Canada will face Dominica on June 11 in Roseau, before flying to Toronto for another contest against the Caribbean side on Tuesday, June 16.


After making his senior team debut against Bulgaria in 2014, the 19-year-old striker has earned five caps for the CMNT, also appearing against Moldova and Colombia. Larin scored his first international goal during Canada's 3-0 win over Puerto Rico in March 2015.


The 2015 number one overall Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft selection has also had a breakout rookie season with Orlando City, scoring five goals in all competitions.
