“Magnet Monday” Taking on Life of Its Own

Take a drive around Orlando – or anywhere in Florida for that matter – and you’ll notice Orlando City’s logo on cars everywhere. That’s because in just a few short months, Orlando City’s front office has given away over 110,000 of them. “Magnet Monday”, as it’s known, is an opportunity for fans and members of the community to stop by OCSC’s offices (located at 618 E South St. in downtown), grab some magnets, and take a tour of City’s beautiful office. - READ


Lewis Neal Among Local Pro Stars Urging Sportsmanship

On Wednesday, Orlando City midfielder Lewis Neal, along with former Orlando Magic players Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw, urged Orange County high schoolers to practice good sportsmanship in the county’s many heated rivalries. Neal advised student athletes to “be a classy guy or a classy girl whether you win or lose." The student-run group created the hashtag “#OCPSRivalryLove” and the slogan “19 Schools, One Team”. - READ MORE


Adrian Heath Amazed by NFL’s “Deflategate” Scandal
We all know the story. After this year’s AFC Championship Game between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was suspended for four games because the Patriots provided underinflated footballs, which many believe to be an unfair advantage for the Pats. Heath blames the NFL for instilling such a “buffoonish” rule calling for the home team to provide game balls. “In soccer, when you get to the stadium, the referee is in charge of the balls. He checks them and those are the balls (that are used).” - READ MORE


Estrela and Róchez Contributing to National Teams

In their friendly matches leading up to the Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand, Orlando City youngsters Estrela and Bryan Róchez both scored for their respective countries. Estrela scored Portugal’s only goal in their 1-0 win over Ghana after being subbed on in the 60th minute. Róchez scored in Honduras’ 2-1 victory over New Zealand. The tournament is scheduled to take place between May 30 and June 20. - READ MORE


Orlando City Front Office Superstitions Paying Off

Perhaps it was that the players all ate their Wheaties that morning. Or maybe it was Adrian Heath’s ingenious tactical adjustments. Those at Orlando City, however, think it was something else that finally earned City its first home MLS win. Some drove different routes to the Citrus Bowl, others changed their socks. Who knew the mystical powers of rosemary, sacredly waved in the goalmouths prior to the game against L.A., could create such good juju.
