Here are five storylines to watch for Saturday's road match as the Lions take on the Pigeons
Saint Maxime Pt. 2
After his club-record tying 11-save performance in City’s 2026 opener against Red Bull New York, veteran MLS goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau added four more saves to his season tally against Inter Miami CF this past Sunday, bringing his total through two games to 15. That mark is good for the second-most saves in Major League Soccer this year, trailing only Charlotte FC’s Croatian shot-stopper Kristijan Kahlina.
The Old Rivals
The Lions are set to head north this weekend for their first road trip of the 2026 Major League Soccer season to take on New York City FC at Yankee Stadium. Orlando City and NYCFC have a long history, having faced each other in both clubs’ first MLS match in 2015, where they split the points in a 1-1 draw. The Lions and the Pigeons also met in City’s first Audi MLS Cup Playoffs appearance in 2020 at Inter&Co Stadium in a historic penalty-kick shootout win that saw former goalkeeper Pedro Gallese sent off during the shootout, with former defender Rodrigo Schlegel stepping in between the posts to make the game-winning save.
Purple Pathway Production Pt. 2
Orlando City SC started two teenagers in the club’s last match against intrastate rival Inter Miami CF, handing first starts to Homegrown midfielder Colin Guske and Homegrown defender Tahir Reid-Brown. Joining Guske and Reid-Brown in the starting lineup was 2026 MLS SuperDraft first-round selection defender Nolan Miller. All three made their first starts for the first team this past weekend. Reid-Brown made his debut appearance for the Lions, while Miller made his first professional start after debuting against Red Bull New York in the home opener.
Magic McGuire
Forward Duncan McGuire’s next appearance will be his 100th for Orlando City across all competitions, making him just the fourth player on the active roster to reach the century mark, joining defender Robin Jansson (238), forward Iván Angulo (142) and midfielder Martín Ojeda (132). The Omaha, Nebraska, native would be the 19th player in Orlando City history to pass the milestone. McGuire’s next goal, his 31st in all competitions, will also tie former Lions captain Nani for fourth place on the club’s all-time scoring chart.
Just Getting Started
Two Orlando City Designated Players scored their first goals of 2026 early in the club’s last match against Inter Miami CF. Forward Marco Pašalić snuck a low shot past goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair off an Iván Angulo cross to open the scoring, and midfielder Martín Ojeda followed shortly after with a deft finish on a quick ball from defender Griffin Dorsey. The goal was Ojeda’s 34th for the club across all competitions, putting him 10 behind former Lions forward Cyle Larin for second place in club history. Angulo is now third in club history with 35 assists, trailing only Ojeda and former captain Mauricio Pereyra. Dorsey recorded his first Orlando City assist in just his second appearance.
