W-League Recap: Alleway Scores in Weekend Action

W-League

The Westfield W-League action continued this weekend with the second round of matches. Four games were played across Saturday, and Sunday. With Pride players at Melbourne City FC, Canberra United, Adelaide United, and Brisbane Roar FC, here is the recap of all your Pride players in the Land Down Under:

Canberra United vs. Melbourne City FC

Three Pride players went head-to-head Friday night as Jasmyne Spencer and Canberra United took on Laura Alleway, Steph Catley, and the rest of the Melbourne City FC crew. Alleway opened up scoring in the 18th minute. Overall, Canberra United had a strong attacking side but they couldn’t find the back of the net. Ayres scored another goal for Melbourne City in the 80th minute-- Canberra walked away with one stoppage time goal by Brush in the 94th minute. Canberra United will face Brisbane Roar FC next weekend, while Melbourne City FC will be off.

Perth Glory vs. Brisbane Roar FC

Perth Glory and Brisbane Roar played their 90 minutes to a scoreless draw this weekend. The attacking game was pretty evenly balanced, and both sides were able to keep up their defense. Maddy Evans and the rest of the Brisbane Roar will take on Spencer and Canberra United next weekend.

Adelaide United

Adelaide United had this weekend off. Next week, they will face the Western Sydney Wanderers.
