ORLANDO, Fla, (Oct. 27, 2021) — Ahead of its final game of the 2021 National Women’s Soccer League season, the Orlando Pride has announced that interim Head Coach Becky Burleigh will not continue with the Club following the conclusion of the current campaign. Burleigh, who was appointed as acting manager on July 25, has withdrawn her name from consideration and will coach her final game with the Club on Friday, Oct. 29 when the Pride host the Chicago Red Stars at Exploria Stadium.

“What an amazing opportunity it was to spend this time as a member of the Orlando Pride,” Burleigh said. “I want to thank the players and the staff for the growth I’ve experienced and I will always be a huge Pride fan. I look forward to aiding in the transition to a new era of Pride soccer.”

“We are grateful to Coach Burleigh for stepping into this role and for guiding the Pride with the utmost professionalism,” said Orlando Pride Chairman Mark Wilf. “We appreciate Becky’s leadership over the past three months and we wish her the best in the future.”

The Club is currently engaged in a coaching search for the Pride’s head coach role and will make a formal announcement when the role is filled.
