ā€œWeā€™re excited to have a match Sunday to continue to build off Wednesdayā€™s performance, which I think was our most complete game so far this season,ā€ Orlando Pride Head Coach Amanda Cromwell said. ā€œOf course, this game closes out a three-game week, two of those on the road, so we will continue to rotate the lineup.Ā We are familiar with WashingtonĀ and certainly both teams have improved after the first three matches. We look forward to entertaining the fans at Audi field, as I know the DC area has a rich soccer history.

Saturday will serve as the second meeting between the Pride and Washington of the Challenge Cup, the first of which resulted in a scoreless draw on March 19 at Exploria Stadium. That match saw goalkeeper Erin McLeod record her first clean sheet as a member of the Pride.Ā

The side enters the weekend looking to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat to NJ/NY Gotham FC at the midweek. Midge Purce scored the eventual game-winner for the visitors in the 86th minute of play in what served as the first goal conceded by the Pride in the run of play in the calendar year.Ā

Wednesdayā€™s match saw goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse make her NWSL debut, while teammates in Erika Tymrak and Sydney Leroux recorded their 150th and 125th league appearances, respectively.

The Spirit come into Sundayā€™s match after battling to a 2-2 draw with the North Carolina Courage on Wednesday. The home side overcame a two-goal deficit to salvage a point on the evening behind finishes from Trinity Rodman and Ashley Hatch.Ā

Hatch leads Washington with two goals in the Challenge Cup, tied for the league-high, followed by Rodman with one.Ā
