ORLANDO, Fla. (July 26, 2024) – Orlando City SC has signed forward Yutaro Tsukada to a short-term agreement from Orlando City B of MLS NEXT Pro, it was announced today. Tsukada will be available for selection in City’s Leagues Cup match against CF Montréal on Friday, July 26, at Inter&Co Stadium. That match will kick off at 8 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

Major League Soccer and the MLS Players Association have agreed to allow an exception to the limitations on Short-Term Agreements for clubs with players unavailable due to participation with their Olympic national teams.

During the period of unavailability due to an Olympics call up, clubs may sign one player to a Short-Term Agreement to replace each unavailable player. An Olympics Call Up Replacement will not count toward the limitation on the number of Short-Term Agreements a player may sign in a season nor the limitation on those players being added to rosters and appearing in matches. This exception is limited to players released for the Olympics and does not apply to mandatory player release under FIFA’s match calendar.
