Web

Highland Heights, Ky. (June 25, 2022) - Orlando City B (3-6-3, 14 points) came out on top against FC Cincinnati 2 (3-9-0, 9 points) by a scoreline of 3-2. The match saw goals come from Jack Lynn, Mauro Bravo and a spectacular individual effort from Moises Tablante for the Lions.

Throughout the first half the Lions did well to contain the press from the opposing side. Orlando City struck first thanks to an intense counterattack finished off by Lynn. Lynn’s goal is his 10th on the season and became just the second player in MLS NEXT Pro to hit double digit goals. The Lions doubled their lead after Lynn slid in a ball behind the Cincinnati defense and found Bravo in full stride. Bravo cut back and calmly put the ball into the back of the net for his first goal of the season.

In the second half, fatigue and frustration reigned with five yellow cards and both teams going to the bench to make multiple changes. The three points were sealed late in the second half with Tablante breaking through the Cincinnati backline and chipping the goalkeeper.

The match also saw goalkeeper Adam Grinwis make his season debut with Orlando City B. Making five crucial saves, Grinwis helped keep the Lions in the game and eventually take home the win.

Scoring Recap:

22’ Jack Lynn - OCB 1, CIN 0

The Lions took the lead after Cincinnati keeper Alec Kann made the initial stop against a shot by Nick Taylor, but Jack Lynn was ready and waiting to put the rebound away.

30’ Mauro Bravo (Jack Lynn) - OCB 2, CIN 0

OCB doubles its lead off a through ball from Lynn. Bravo cut behind Cincinnati’s defense into the box and his left footed strike found the bottom left corner of the net.

35’ Alan Cruz - OCB 2, CIN 1

84’ Moises Tablante - OCB 3, CIN 1

In a brilliant show of individual skill Moises Tablante added another goal to OCB’s tally. He won the ball in his own half and broke the line of defense in order to chip the on rushing Kann from the top of the 18 yard box.
