ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 9, 2022) — Orlando City SC has acquired defender Luca Petrasso from Toronto FC, it was announced today. In exchange, the Lions have sent $300,000 in 2023 General Allocation Money to Toronto, with the potential for an additional $50,000 in 2024 and $50,000 in 2025 should certain conditions be met. As a Homegrown player, Petrasso is automatically protected in this week’s 2022 MLS Expansion Draft.

“Luca is a very technical player that can play anywhere on the left side of our formation, from left back to out on the wing,” said EVP of Soccer Operations and General Manager Luiz Muzzi. “While just 22, he has solid experience at the senior level and he’ll provide immediate strength for us at the position, with a lot of potential for growth.”
