ORLANDO, Fla. (June 1, 2017) - One week since its last match, Orlando City B (3-4-3, 12 points) travels to Highmark Stadium to take on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (4-4-3, 15 points) on Saturday, June 3, at 7:00 p.m. ET.
“[Pittsburgh] has some dangerous forward players. They’ve got [Corey] Hertzog, Kevin Kerr, [Romeo] Parkes,” OCB Head Coach Anthony Pulis said. “They’re really well organized so we know that going there, it’s always a difficult game when you go to Pittsburgh. We understand that they’re a dangerous team and they make it difficult to play there. We have to make sure we’re ready.”
This is the third all-time matchup between these teams. On April 22 of its 2016 expansion season, OCB picked up its first ever win, 2-1, at Highmark Stadium. Then on Sept. 3, Pittsburgh picked up a 2-0 win in Melbourne.
In its last match, OCB got on the scoreboard first but fell, 3-1, to the Charlotte Independence. Rookie forward Albert Dikwa scored his third goal of the season, tying Richie Laryea for the team lead. Pierre Da Silva earned his fifth assist of the season and is tied for the most in the United Soccer League (USL).
Goalkeeper Earl Edwards, Jr. is third in the USL with 29 saves and has posted three clean sheets this season.
Pittsburgh is coming off a scoreless draw in Harrisburg on May 24. Goalkeeper Trey Mitchell, who was on the Lions’ 18-man roster on Oct. 25, 2015 in Philadelphia, made three saves to earn his fourth clean sheet of the season. Former Lion Corey Hertzog leads the Riverhounds with five goals in 11 appearances while seven different players have registered assists.
