Since the Pride last faced off against Gotham FC, the New Jersey-based side has inked defender Kelly Ann Livingstone to a one-year contract. Livingstone was selected by Gotham with the 24th overall selection in the 2022 NWSL Draft out of Georgetown University.
Gotham are coming off a 3-1 loss to the Washington Spirit at Red Bull Arena last weekend.. The home side struck first through Nahomi Kawasumi in the fourth minute, but were unable to take advantage of their remaining chances on the day while Trinity Rodman tallied a brace and Ashley Sanchez found the back of the net to give the Spirit the victory.
Four members of Gotham FC have found the back of the net in the Challenge Cup, with Nahomi Kawasumi, Kristie Mewis, Ifeoma Onumonu and Midge Purce all getting on the scoresheet through five matches. Mewis also sits tied for the team high in assists with teammate Ellie Jean, each with one apiece.
The Pride last faced Gotham on March 30 at Exploria Stadium, eventually falling 1-0 after a late game-winner from Midge Purce in the 87th minute. The last time the Pride visited Red Bull Arena came on Aug. 29 of last year, with the visitors taking a 1-0 shutout victory thanks to a 49th-minute game-winner from Erika Tymrak.
