KTO dash

The Orlando Pride will travel to Houston this week to face off in the first of back-to-back matches against the Dash. The Dash have been in a bit of a hectic situation this season, parting ways with Head Coach Randy Waldrum, but they will still be a tough team to take down at home. Here is a breakdown of the Pride’s latest opponent.

Recent Matches

The Houston Dash have lost all of their last five matches. Their only points came from two wins back in April, against the Chicago Red Stars and the Washington Spirit. Since then, it has been a struggle for the Texas side. They have just six points in eight matches played, and find themselves at the bottom of the NWSL table.

Who’s Hot

The Dash have really struggled on offense so far this season. They have scored just six goals in eight matches, but Carli Lloyd might be available for the match on June 17th. Lloyd, who has won FIFA Player of the Year for the last two years, is an automatic game-changer for the Dash and could breathe life back into their offense.

Who’s Not

The Dash have struggled in all areas this season. Their offense has struggled to score and their defense hasn’t been able to hold off the attack. The team earned shutouts in both of their victories, but they have allowed 16 goals so far this season-- that’s an average of two goals per game. Compare that to their average of scoring 0.75 goals per game, and you can see why they have struggled.

The Pride faced the Dash four times last season, including their first ever home match where they defeated the Dash 3-1. The Pride have only lost to the Dash once-- a stinging 4-2 loss on the road towards the end of last season. Their overall record against Houston is 3-1-0.
