8 - A Homegrown hit

17 year-old center back Thomas Williams had a big week, appearing briefly at the end of Orlando City’s 2-0 win in Columbus last weekend before making his first start in purple on Wednesday in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Williams helped the Lions to a 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rowdies, becoming the eighth Homegrown player to start a competitive match for Orlando City.

5 - Bullish on the Bear

Júnior Urso is off to a remarkable start to 2022. His five MLS goal contributions (two goals, three assists) have already equaled his total from each of the past two seasons even though he has only played 628 MLS minutes so far this year. He even added a third goal to his season tally on Wednesday night with what ended up being the game-winner against Tampa Bay in the Open Cup.

75 - Papi’s diamond jubilee

Oscar Pareja will manage his 75th game as Orlando City Head Coach on Sunday against the New York Red Bulls. With a record of 31-19-24 in all competitions, Pareja has already set the record for most wins of any Orlando City Head Coach. Papi is currently on the fourth three-game winning streak of his Lions’ tenure.

140 - Running of the Bulls

Getting in the way of the Red Bulls can be perilous business. Thanks to their heavy emphasis on high pressing, RBNY leads MLS with 140 fouls conceded, a whopping 28 more than the next-closest team, the Portland Timbers, who have played one more game than the Red Bulls. That’s 20% more fouls than any other team in the league!
