Orlando City and New York City FC are set to battle for the 21st time in all competitions this weekend, the most either team has faced a single opponent in their respective MLS histories. The two clubs entered the league together in 2015 and faced off in their inaugural match, with Kaká scoring a dramatic stoppage time equalizer in front of 62,510 fans in Orlando

Defense has been a calling card for Oscar Pareja’s Orlando City over the years, and the last five matches have seen the Lions rocket back towards the league’s elite. Coinciding with Antonio Carlos’ return to the starting XI, Orlando has conceded just 4.16 expected goals over its past five matches, fourth in MLS in that span behind LAFC, the New York Red Bulls (whom Orlando defeated on August 13) and CF Montréal.

César Araújo continues to earn plaudits throughout MLS for his exemplary debut season in Orlando, making the MLS Team of the Week bench for another impeccable performance last weekend against Charlotte FC. In the game, Araújo completed every single one of his 40 passes, becoming just the 10th player this season to record a 100% passing accuracy in a game while attempting at least 40 passes.

For the sixth and final time this regular season, Orlando City will play on national television, facing NYCFC at 7:30 p.m. ET this Sunday on FS1 and Fox Deportes. The Lions have fared well on national TV this season, going 2-1-2 with wins over the LA Galaxy and Chicago Fire. Orlando was on national television 13 times last season.
