Around MLS: Who Is The Best Young Player in MLS?

MLSsoccer.com has brought back it’s series ‘24 Under 24,’ which ranks the top 24 players under the age of 23 in MLS. Players are chosen based on their skill level and potential in the league, and rankings are revealed bit by bit throughout the week. In the first round, revealed yesterday, Orlando City players Tommy Redding and Cristian Higuita came in at #23 and #21, respectively. Past winners of the event include Orlando City Midfielder Brek Shea. 


Frank Lampard Out


New York City FC Midfielder Frank Lampard will miss the next 3-4 weeks with a calf injury. He suffered the injury on Saturday night, in NYCFC’s 2-2 draw against FC Dallas. NYCFC currently sits in 3rd place in the Eastern Conference, and will be without their top goal-scorer for the majority of the regular season. 


Atlanta Looks For Head Coach


Atlanta United is continuing their search for the team’s first-ever head coach. Reports say that Atlanta is in talks with both Sigi Schmid, formerly of the Seattle Sounders, and Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino, formerly of the Argentinian National Team. Atlanta United will make their MLS debut at the start of the 2017, but will begin their journey on December 13th during the Expansion Draft
