Around MLS: Power Rankings Released; Tim Howard to MLS?

MLS Power Rankings
The power rankings for the MLS were released today, March 2nd. The reigning MLS Cup champions Portland Timbers hold on to the number one spot while FC Dallas are ranked 2nd. Out of the 20 teams in the MLS Orlando City is ranked number 12, four slots ahead of NYCFC, last year’s other MLS expansion team. With teams around the league looking to prove themselves, this ranking is sure to shake up throughout the season

Two MLS Teams Exit CONCACAF
The Los Angeles Galaxy and DC United were both eliminated from CONCACAF Champions League (Learn about the CCL here). DC United was bounced by Queretaro tying at one apiece, while the LA Galaxy lost 4-0 to Santos Laguna. The last two remaining MLS teams, Seattle Sounders and Real Salt Lake, both play in quarterfinal games Wednesday, March 3rd against Liga MX teams.

USMNT Goalie Tim Howard Set To Join Colorado Rapids
After trading Clint Irwin and losing defender Drew Moor to free agency, the Colorado Rapids are set to sign Everton and USMNT goalkeeper Tim Howard. After a MLS low in fan attendance last season, the Rapids are no doubt looking for the big fan draw and Tim Howard could certainly be the answer.
