Academy Update: Southeast Division Champs

It was a banner weekend for the Orlando City Academy, as Florida added another coat of purple paint and one young Lions squad reached an important milestone.

In the same week during which former Academy star Thomas Williams signed a Homegrown contract to become Orlando City’s youngest-ever first team player, both the Orlando City U17 and U15 sides defeated Inter Miami academy teams. The U17s clinched the Southeast division title with the victory.

U17 forward Ethan Subachan has been scoring goals for fun during this spring season, and the youngster snagged another brace in the 3-0 division-clinching win. Gonzalo Agustoni added the third goal for the Lions.

The U15s battled through a challenging and tight game before emerging with a 2-1 win over their southern foes. Majed Abdullah and Alejandro Granados had the goals for Orlando. The U15s are currently second in the Southeast but could still top the division if results go their way this weekend.
