The Revolution opened their MLS Cup Playoffs by topping Montreal 2-1 in the play-in round and following that with a 2-0 win over the MLS Supporters Shield winners Philadelphia Union. New England finished the regular season with a 1-3-1 record in their final five matches.
Head-to-Head
City and New England have yet to meet in 2020 in all competitions. The two sides met three times in 2019 splitting the series with a draw and a win apiece. The Lions took a 2-1 win in June and followed that with a 3-3 draw at Exploria Stadium in September.
