ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 6, 2020) - Orlando Pride and U.S. Women’s National Team defender Ali Krieger has joined the Orlando City SC broadcast crew, the Club announced today. Krieger, one of the most decorated and respected defenders in soccer history, will join Evan Weston and Miguel Gallardo to provide analysis and sideline reporting for the remainder of Orlando City’s 2020 Major League Soccer season, once the Club returns from the MLS is Back Tournament.

Krieger will also feature on content across the Club’s digital platforms, with her involvement working around her commitments to the Pride.

“I’m very excited for this opportunity and the chance to bring my knowledge and a different perspective to the Orlando City broadcast team,” Krieger said. “I’ve enjoyed all of my previous experiences in game analysis and look forward to both adding value to Orlando City’s product while also continuing to learn, grow and gain more knowledge of this side of the industry.”

Krieger, 36, was acquired by the Pride via trade ahead of the 2017 season. Since then, she has made 55 appearances for the Pride and has been named to the NWSL Best XI or Second XI five of her seven NWSL seasons.

A two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup Champion (2015, 2019), Krieger is arguably one of the greatest right backs to play the game, earning over 100 caps with the U.S. Women’s National Team while accumulating global accolades such as 2017 CONCACAF Best XI, 2016 FIFPro Best XI and 2011 Women’s World Cup Best XI.

Prior to her time in the NWSL, Krieger played in the former WPS as well as stints in Sweden and Germany. Her professional career started at the top in the 2007-08 season, winning “the treble” — a UEFA Women’s Championship, the Bundesliga title and the German Cup — with 1. FFC Frankfurt.

In addition to her accomplishments on the field, Krieger has also worked on the broadcast side with appearances on NBC’s Premier League Mornings Live, beIN Sports coverage of the U.S. Men’s National Team and guest analyst roles during previous Orlando City seasons.

Krieger, Weston and Gallardo will be on the call for City’s locally-broadcast matches, aired across the Greater Orlando area on Fox 35 Plus.
