Breaking Down the XI | The Marathon Begins

XI DC

Itā€™s the first of a historically busy stretch for Orlando City and James Oā€™Connor has named his XI to represent the Lions in the Nation's Capital.

In goal, Brian Rowe will start for the fourth consecutive league match. Heā€™ll be backed up by Mason Stajduhar who was recalled from loan earlier this week.

The backline will consist of Kyle Smith, filling in for the injured JoĆ£o Moutinho, Robin Jansson, Lamine SanĆ©, and Ruan. Smith appeared as a substitute in Orlando Cityā€™s last two matches and last started against Seattle on May 15th.

In the midfield, Carlos Ascues, Sacha Kljestan, and Dillon Powers will team up. Powers has played only 90 MLS minutes this season, all of which came in his start against Seattle. His recent strong performance in the U.S. Open Cup should set him up for success in D.C.

Up top, Nani, Tesho Akindele, and Chris Mueller will lead the attack.

Starting XI presented by Orlando Health: Rowe, Smith, Jansson, SanƩ, Ruan, Ascues, Kljestan, Powers, Nani, Akindele, Mueller.

Bench: Acosta, De John, Michel, O'Neill, PatiƱo, Rosell, Stajduhar.
