Breaking Down the XI | Sané Starts

Sane Starts

Orlando City is set to take on D.C. United at Orlando City Stadium. James O’Connor will deploy a similar lineup to his winning selection against the Red Bulls with only two changes tonight.

At the back, Brian Rowe gets the nod again after recording a clean sheet in New York and being named to the MLS Team of the Week.

In front of him, Lamine Sané will return to the starting lineup for the first time since last October. The Frenchman has been battling injuries and will replace the injured Alex de John. To his left, Robin Jansson will look to replicate his stellar debut. To his right, Shane O’Neill starts for the ninth consecutive match spanning back to 2018.

On the wings, João Moutinho and Ruan remain in place. The midfield will remain the same as well with Carlos Ascues, Sacha Kljestan, and Uri Rosell.

Up front, Dom Dwyer is back in the lineup after getting a bit of rest last week. He’ll pair up with Nani who is wearing the captain’s armband.

Starting XI: Rowe, Jansson, Sané, O’Neill, Moutinho, Ascues, Kljestan, Rosell, Ruan, Nani, Dwyer.

Bench: Grinwis, Miller, Méndez, Mueller, Michel, Patiño, Smith.
