Breaking Down the XI: Grinwis Back in Goal; Laryea Starts -

As the Lions take on New England tonight at Gillette Stadium, you’ll see some squad rotation tonight ahead of Wednesday night’s home match against the Seattle Sounders.

Returning from injury, Adam Grinwis will get his second career MLS start. Grinwis recorded a clean sheet against Houston on September 22.

Jame O’Connor will deploy a four-man backline of RJ Allen, Lamine Sané, Shane O’Neil, and Scott Sutter. Tonight will be RJ Allen’s first start since July 26.

The Lions will look to play from the back into their defensive midfield consisting of Carlos Ascues and Tony Rocha.

In the forward midfield, you’ll see the trio of Chris Mueller, Will Johnson and Richie Laryea. Laryea last appeared in the starting lineup in week two of the 2018 season.

Up top, Josue Colmán will start at striker due to injuries to Dom Dwyer and Stéfano Pinho.

Lineup: Grinwis, Allen, Sané, O’Neill, Sutter, Ascues, Rocha, Johnson, Mueller, Laryea, Colmán.

Bench: Bendik, Powers, Higuita, Lindley, Kljestan, Toia, Schuler.
