Remember When?

The last time New England visited Orlando City Stadium, the Lions earned their biggest-ever victory, 6-1, on Sept. 27, 2017. F Dom Dwyer and M Yoshi Yotún each recorded a goal and 2 assists. 5 Lions found the back of the net on the evening, setting a Club record. Yotún’s was his first goal as a Lion and Dwyer’s was his first at Orlando City Stadium.

The match marked City’s largest margin of victory in Club history, as well as the most goals that City has scored in a single game in league play.

Hey Now, You Were an All-Star

On Wednesday M Yoshi Yotún represented the Club at the 2018 MLS All-Star Game. M Cam Lindley represented the Lions in the 2018 MLS HomeGrown Game on Tuesday.

Yotún entered the MLS All-Star game in the 63rd minute and had 27 touches, 3 tackles and 2 chances created. Yotún also buried his penalty kick in the shootout, which Juventus won 5-3 after the match finished at 1-1 through 90 minutes.

Lindley played the entire match for the Homegrowns against Tigres UANL U-20. Lindley was 1 of 2 Homegrowns to play the full 90 minutes.

The Assist King

With his assist on Sunday at the LA Galaxy, M Sacha Kljestan tied M Yoshi Yotún for the team lead this season with 6 assists in league play. It was Kljestan’s 90th career regular-season assist.

Kljestan leads the Lions in assists across all competitions in 2018 with 10. He also leads the team in number of goals created this season in league play with 11, having 5 goals to add to his 6 assists.

The Lions Are Coming!

In its 4 home matches against the Revs in Club history, City has scored a Club-record 13 goals in Orlando.

The Lions are 2-0-2 against New England at home in their history. The Revs are one of 10 teams that City has never lost to at home, the others being Colorado, Sporting KC, LA Galaxy, LAFC, San Jose, Real Salt Lake, Houston, Philadelphia and Portland.

On The Front Foot

The Lions’ 3 goals on Sunday marked the 6th time this season they have found the back of the net 3+ times in a single match across all competitions. This is one shy of a Club record set in 2015.

On Sunday Orlando City also scored the opening goal for the 5th time this season and the 3rd in its last 4 games under Head Coach James O’Connor.

Milestone Tracker

M Sacha Kljestan is one assist away from tying former LA Galaxy M Cobi Jones for 8th-most assists in MLS history (91).

M Cristian Higuita’s next appearance will be his 87th in MLS for City, which will pass F Cyle Larin for the Club record.

Happy Anniversary Yoshi!

Exactly 1 year ago M Yoshi Yotún signed with the Lions as a Designated Player. Since then, Yotún leads the team with 10 assists and is tied for 3rd in goals scored with F Cyle Larin and M Cristian Higuita. Yotún has appeared in 25 matches, starting every match he has played in. He has missed only 7 matches since joining the Lions, all but 1 of which came during his time with the Peru national team at the 2018 FIFA World Cup this season (Yotún was not yet with the team on Aug. 5, 2017). Yotún started and went 90 minutes in all but 11 of City’s 34 games since then.
