The new #12 in town, Shane O’Neill, will be available for selection for the first time on Saturday now that the secondary transfer window is open, though this is pending his ITC. He signed with City back on June 22nd and has been training with the club.

It wasn’t the result the boys wanted, but the attack made improvements in James O’Connor’s first match at the helm. City tallied nine shots on goal on the road in Los Angeles which is a minor consolation but that is a positive sign as the O’Connor era is just beginning.

The nine shots on goal weren’t the only season-high for the Lions on Saturday. Joe Bendik also racked up nine saves against Los Angeles FC which left him just one shy of the club record which he holds (at Sporting KC on May 15, 2016).

Have your eyes on the race for the Playoffs? The boys are well within striking distance. The club has 16 matches left in the 2018 campaign and currently sits in ninth place just five points back of Montreal who occupies the final cut-off spot.

Midfielder Yoshi Yotun’s next MLS assist will be his 10th as a Lion. That will be enough to pass Kevin Molino for 3rd-most in Club history. Kaka (22) and Carlos (13) are first and second for assists in club history.
