Amro Tarek Named to Egyptian Preliminary Roster for 2018 World Cup

Egypt national team manager Héctor Cúper has named his 29-man squad for Kuwait and Belgium friendlies as the Egyptians ready themselves for the 2018 World Cup this summer. The roster will eventually be cut to the final 23-man squad for World Cup play. 


City's Amro Tarek has been included in the squad. The center back currently has one cap to his name for the Senior National Team and will be looking to make more to claim his spot for the team in Russia.



Preliminary Roster:


Goalkeepers: Essam El-Hadary (Al Taawoun), Mohamed El-Shennawy (Al Ahly), Sherif Ekramy (Al Ahly), Mohamed Awad (Ismaily).


Defenders: Ahmed Fathi (Al Ahly), Saad Samir (Al Ahly), Ayman Ashraf (Al Ahly), Mahmoud Hamdy “El Wensh” (Zamalek), Mohamed AbdelShafy (Al Fath) Ahmed Hegazi (West Brom), Ali Gabr (West Brom), Ahmed ElMohamady (Aston Villa), Karim Hafez (RC Lens), Omar Gaber (LAFC), Amro Tarek (Orlando City).


Midfielders: Tarek Hamed (Zamalek), Mahmoud AbdelAziz (Zamalek), Shikabala (Al Raed), AbdAllah El-Said (KuPS), Sam Morsy (Wigan), Mohamed ElNeny (Arsenal), Mahmoud “Kahraba” (Ittihad), Ramadan Sobhi (Stoke City), Mahmoud “Trezeguet” (Kasimpasa), Amr Warda (Atromitos).


Forwards: Marwan Mohsen (Al Ahly), Ahmed Gomaa (Al Masry) Ahmed Hassan “Koka” (SC Braga), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool).


Egypt will face the Kuwaiti national team on May 26th in Kuwait and then will face Belgium on June 6th in their final friendly game before the World Cup.
