Know Your Opponent | Philadelphia Union

City hit the road to visit Philadelphia on Friday night sitting on a two-game win streak. The Lions sit fifth in the East while the Union trail in eighth, two points behind but with a game in hand. Here is everything you need to know about the Philadelphia Union:

Key Departures

The offseason saw a host of aging veterans exit Philadelphia as the club looked to get younger. Brian Carroll and Charlie Davies called it a day and retired after long careers. Meanwhile, Oguchi Onyewu, Chris Pontius, and Roland Alberg all moved on from the club.

New Faces to Watch

After a long search for a number ten in Philly, the Union landed Czech Republic International Borek Dockal to replace the departed Roland Alberg. The club then went out and acquired David Accam from Chicago to fill the hole that Chris Pontius left. Accam is no stranger to success against Orlando scoring with a backheel flick last year at Chicago.

Who’s Hot

Union midfielder Alejandro Bedoya bagged the equalizer for the Union last weekend against San Jose and his performance earned him an MLS Team of the Week performance.

Who’s Not

The Union have had mixed success early on in 2018. The team currently holds a 1-1-2 record with their most recent results being a loss and a draw.

Head-to-Head

All-time City is 2-3-2 versus Philadelphia and only 1-3-0 at Talen Energy Stadium.
