storylines orlvclb 2017 pt 2*

1 - The Home Stretch

The Lions return for their first home game in nearly a month fol- lowing a three-game road trip. This is one of City’s  ve remaining home games and the first of two straight at Orlando City Stadium, as Vancouver visits on Aug. 26. The Lions then go on the road for four in a row before coming back to host New England, Dallas and Columbus. City finishes its 2017 regular season Oct. 22 at Philadelphia.

2 - Mutiny

Orlando City’s only win in the all-time regular season series came in 2015 when City thrashed Crew SC 5-2. After Federico Higuain gave Columbus an early lead, Cyle Larin equalized and then gave City a 3-1 lead early in the second half to score his fifth goal in two games and tie the MLS rookie goal-scoring record with his 11th goal of the season. Larin went on to set the record with his second career hat trick in a 5-2 win over the Red Bulls on Sept. 25 and eventually upped record to 17 goals.

Orlando City also earned a 2-0 win over Columbus in the 2015 U.S. Open Cup Round of 16, when Kaká scored before Carlos Rivas’ absolute screamer made it 2-0.

3 - Party Like it's 199

Joe Bendik leads MLS with 85 saves, which are five more than Luis Robles in second. Bendik also has 199 career saves as a Lion. The former Clemson Tiger set the team single-season clean sheet record with his six this season and also the team all-time shutout record with 11.

4 - Watch This

This is the first match at Orlando City Stadium since Video Review was implemented league-wide. The Video Assistant Referee issued Kaká a straight red card upon review Saturday at Red Bull Arena.

5 - You're In Your Element, Donny

Donny Toia is one away from his 100th career MLS appear- ance, including regular season and playoffs. The Arizona native played 27 games for Chivas USA in 2014 before beginning a two-year stint with Montreal, where he made 52 appearances, including four in the playoffs, and scored his only career MLS goal. That one was a game-winning header against Orlando City on June 20, 2015. Toia added two assists in 2016 and has two this season with Orlando City, including one game-winner.

6 - The More The Merrier Round 3

This is the third consecutive Saturday tripleheader for Orlando City SC. Both Orlando Pride and Orlando City B will look to ex- tend their winning streaks to three games when they take on the Boston Breakers and Charlotte Independence, respectively. The Pride kick off at 4 p.m., while OCB kicks off at 7 p.m.

7 - Points To Be Had

Orlando City has 10 games remaining,  ve of them against cur- rent playoff teams. Including Saturday’s match against Columbus, City will visit Atlanta and Portland before hosting Dallas and Columbus in the regular season home finale. Orlando City’s  ve matches against non-playoff teams include trips to New England, D.C. and Philadelphia - the bottom three teams in the East - and visits from the Revs and Vancouver.

8 - The Wall Welcomes You

This could potentially mark the Orlando City Stadium debuts for Orlando City’s three transfer window acquisitions, Dom Dwyer, Yoshimar Yotún and Dillon Powers. Dwyer has played two matches with City, while Yotún made his debut Saturday at Red Bull Arena, where Powers was in the 18-man lineup.
