Dwyer Sets Standard In Opening Press Conference

Star forward Dom Dwyer has high aspirations for his new Club which he expressed this morning during his opening press conference.

“This Club has evolved, it’s a new place it’s a new team. I’m excited to play with a lot of the players here - it’s time to bring a championship to Orlando,” Dwyer said.

City’s new number 18 wants to bring more success to Orlando. For 2017, this may mean earning the Club’s first playoff appearance - a goal set by head coach Jason Kreis before this season. For the long term, Dwyer has his sights set on bringing titles to Orlando. Right now the Club is on the outside-looking-in for an Eastern Conference playoff spot, but Dwyer’s proven ability to regularly put the ball in the back of the net might just change that. Dwyer and Orlando City have 13 games remaining to change the script and make it to the playoffs. Who knows? His championship aspirations may not be out of reach.

When asked how confident he is in Orlando City’s ability to make the playoffs, Dwyer made it clear that he believes:

“No doubt in my mind that this team has enough talent to [make the playoffs],” Dwyer stated in his press conference. “As long as we collectively perform well and just be a solid group.”

“I haven’t met all the [players] yet, but I’ve heard there’s a great team togetherness. It’s a special group of players and with that always comes great team chemistry. Like I said I’m excited to be here, I want to improve the group,” he continued. “I’m ready to get going.”

Dwyer may be available to suit up in Purple as early as this Saturday
