Orlando City “Not Holding Anything Back” At Home Against Atlanta

Not Holding Back

Orlando City have a clear objective for every single home match: go after three points. Friday’s match against Atlanta United is no exception and Lions head coach Jason Kreis will have his team ready to go.

Two consecutive meetings between Orlando City and Atlanta United should provide some drama on the field. And yes, it is good for fans and Major League Soccer to entertain the possibility of a new southern rivalry. However, for the Orlando City boss, his undivided attention is on the task at hand: a home match against Atlanta.

“We’re not holding anything back. We’re not thinking that we have any secrets to hold from them and I’m pretty sure they don’t have any secrets to hold from us either,” Kreis explained to reporters earlier today at a City training session. “We go into the first match, it’s our home match, and we go after three points. That’s our objective in every home match.”

If the Lions take care of business at home it will release some of the pressure when Orlando City travel to Atlanta next week. Three points on Friday night will put them ahead of Atlanta in the MLS Eastern Conference standings; then the pressure goes back on the MLS newcomers to win at home.
