City Falls to In-Form Fire
Following Wednesday’s thrilling draw at Seattle, Orlando City hopped on another plane to Chicago to take on the red-hot Fire.
For the second time this season, Orlando City has faced Chicago with only a few days rest - while the Fire have had a full week’s recovery leading up to both matches with the Lions.
Chicago forward David Accam punished Orlando City early with two goals in the first ten minutes. An uphill battle for the Lions resulted in the Fire netting two more second half goals and taking all three points at home.
Pride Offense Temporarily Halted
The Orlando Pride welcomed the Houston Dash to Orlando City Stadium on Saturday for a mid-afternoon match.
Just one week ago, the Pride beat Houston 4-2 on their home ground in a record-setting performance. Orlando’s offense, led by Marta and Jasmyne Spencer, could not find the back of the net Saturday afternoon in what was a frustrating match for Tom Sermanni and the Pride.
OCSC Midfielder Earns MLS Debut
Richie Laryea entered the match at Toyota Park in the 64th minute to make his MLS debut. After the match against Chicago, the 22-year-old was asked about making his debut.
"It feels good. Obviously it's good to get minutes out there, it's one of many more chances to come.”
Laryea, a Toronto, Canada native, has scored three goals this season for OCB as he continues to shine at a young age in Orlando City Purple.
