Scott Sutter: No One Is Coming To Our House And Getting Three Points

On Saturday, Orlando City will host their fifth home match of the season against the Colorado Rapids. After defeating the L.A Galaxy 2-1, Orlando City became the first team to open an MLS stadium with four consecutive wins. This weekend they will look to make it five.

“We need to definitely show that we are confident at home,” Scott Sutter said. “This is our stadium and no one is coming in and getting three points. We will do everything so that that won’t be the case and we’ll get another win.”

While the Colorado Rapids haven’t had a good start to the season, Orlando City knows that they won’t be easy competition to take down. They went far in the postseason last year, and they have the opportunity to create dangerous chances.

“We can’t underestimate them. We know that they’ve been struggling, but I don’t really think that’s reflective of the way they’re playing,” Sutter said. “They just haven’t been putting away the chances they get. They get quite a lot of chances every game and just haven’t been finishing that well. We definitely can’t underestimate them. We need to bring our A game, work hard, and concentrate on ourselves.”

A win on the road against NYCFC opened the eyes of the rest of the league. Orlando City shot up in the MLS Power Rankings this week, and opponents around the league are starting to take note of the rising talent in the City Beautiful. But Sutter said that the team cannot become complacent.

“You definitely can’t get complacent. I think that the difference between the teams here sometimes is so minimal,” Sutter said. “We need to keep it going and keep the momentum and still work hard to improve. And I think that’s drilled in by Jason [Kreis] that we still need to work hard and there’s a lot we need to improve on.”

Orlando City will host the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, April 29th at 4:00pm.
