United States Continue World Cup Qualifiers

The United States Men’s National Team will play two matches this week as part of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers. On Friday, they’ll travel to St. Vincent and the Grenadines to face their national team, before hosting Trinidad and Tobago in Jacksonville on Tuesday. They’ll be without star forward Clint Dempsey, but with Jozy Altidore and Bobby Wood on a hot streak, they’re confident they’ll be able to pull out results and move on to the next round. Orlando City’s Kevin Molino will be with Trinidad for the match.

LA Galaxy Lose Two Key Players

The LA Galaxy have lost players Nigel De Jong and Gyasi Zardes for the rest of the season. Zardes is out with a broken fifth metatarsal in his foot, while De Jong and the Galaxy mutually terminated De Jong’s contract. Both of these players have had an impact on the field for the Galaxy, and recovering from their loss may leave the Galaxy vulnerable in the run-up to the playoffs.

MLS Launches Annual Kick Childhood Cancer Campaign

The MLS will be supporting Childhood Cancer Awareness month with the start of their annual Kick Childhood Cancer campaign. This year, the league will be working with Scarftember to create a unique Kick Childhood Cancer scarf for each MLS club. All proceeds will benefit the Children’s Oncology Group. The league will also be supporting the cause through other match day and social media initiatives.
