Carrasco Looks Forward to Trip Back to KC

Carrasco Return

Orlando City SC (2-2-5, 11 points) midfielder Servando Carrasco is excited about this weekendā€™s away match against Sporting Kansas City (4-5-2, 14 points). The 27 year-old in his sixth season with the MLS spent the first nine games of 2015 with Sporting before being traded to Orlando.

Carrasco said of playing Kansas City, ā€œThatā€™s always a fun game for me. I mean, itā€™s always fun to play against my friends.ā€ He remembered the squad he played with as, ā€œjust a really good group of guys.ā€

Despite his describing the match up as ā€œfun,ā€ Carrasco isnā€™t approaching the game with any less intensity. Star Kansas City forward Dom Dwyer, once on loan to Orlando City, is on Carrascoā€™s radar for the upcoming game. Speaking on Dwyer, Carrasco complimented, ā€œHe works the entire game, he does all the dirty work for their team.ā€ He offered a simple solution to Dwyer, though, ā€œYou have toā€¦ outwork him.ā€

His affinity for Sporting Kansas City, however, doesnā€™t change his opinion of the two fan bases. ā€œIā€™ve been blown away by the fan base [in Orlando]. I mean, since day one.ā€ Asked to compare the two fan bases, Carrasco said, ā€œVery similar, but a lot bigger [in Orlando] in terms of numbers.ā€

Orlando City SC takes on Sporting Kansas City Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Childrenā€™s Mercy Park, scheduled for 3:30 PM ET.
