In the first home game of their inaugural season, the Orlando Pride took on the Houston Dash on Saturday night. The team walked away with a 3-1 win against the Dash, their first win of the season. One player who made a strong impact was goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris, who had more than one impressive save against the strong Dash offense.
“Ashlyn saved our butts in the first couple of minutes,” Team Captain Alex Morgan said after the game. “She came up huge a couple of times this game, and she’s going to keep coming up huge for us this season.”
Morgan had high praise for her goalkeeper, even mentioning that her club performance might earn her some attention on the national team. “She is one of the best goalkeepers in the world,” Morgan said. “I think tonight that showed. I see her continuing to make big saves.”
Harris and her teammates now look ahead to next weekend, where they will be taking on the Chicago Red Stars.
