Star Forward Alex Morgan joined Orlando Pride training today, coming off of a win in the SheBelieves Cup tournament with the U.S Women’s National Team last week. In that tournament, Morgan scored two of the team’s four goals, including a goal in stoppage time against France that won the game for the United States.

Morgan already has eight goals under her belt in 2016, including five goals in the CONCACAF Olympic qualifiers. Coming off a year marked by injuries, Morgan appears to be at the peak of fitness. In fact, some say that this may be the strongest she’s been in her entire career.

Although Morgan joined Pride training three days later than most of her teammates, Morgan admits that she is probably in better fitness because of her national team commitments. “I feel like I’m a little bit fitter than most of my teammates,” Morgan said after training. “Just because I’ve had a couple of games under my belt this year.”

Still, Morgan was impressed by how the team was pushing themselves after only a few days. “The quality was great,” Morgan said. “Everyone is so professional and the coaching staff was great.”

With the season just around the corner, everyone is excited to see what is next for one of the greatest soccer players in the world. But no one is more excited than Morgan herself. “I feel fit, ready to go, fully healthy,” Morgan said after training. “So hopefully now I can come in and step in and help my teammates.”
