Orlando City SC Holds Four Selections in 2016 MLS SuperDraft

ORLANDO, Fla. – Jan 14, 2016 – Orlando City SC will have four selections in the 2016 Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft beginning on Thursday afternoon at the Baltimore Convention Center. The first two rounds of the SuperDraft 2016 will be streamed live via MLSSoccer.com starting at 1 p.m., while the final two rounds will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 19 via conference call.


City holds the seventh pick of the first round and the 12th pick of the second round (32nd overall), which was acquired from the LA Galaxy in exchange of goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts in 2015. The Lions also possess the seventh pick of the third round (48th overall) and the seventh pick of the fourth round (68th overall).


After a successful 2015 MLS SuperDraft – selecting the 2015 MLS Rookie of the Year, 2015 CONCACAF Player of the Year nominee and rookie goal scoring record holder Cyle Larin as a first overall pick, U-20 U.S. Men’s National Team and Generation adidas defender Conor Donovan (22nd overall) and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and promising goalkeeper Earl Edwards Jr. (43rd overall) – the Lions aim to continue strengthening their squad with young gifted talents.
