Key Orlando Pride Dates on the Horizon

With the start of 2016 right around the corner, we are getting close to the beginning of the Orlando Pride’s inaugural season. With the expansion draft now in the past, and the core of the roster set, Orlando begins the final stretch of preparations before the season starts. Below we look at a few key dates to look for. Estimated dates are marked with an asterisk and are subject to change.

NWSL College Draft January 15, 2016 Orlando Pride will put some of the final touches on the roster in Mid-January with the College Draft.
Release of schedule Mid-January* There is no exact date at this time for the release of the 2016 NWSL schedule, however before last season, the schedule was released in Mid-January which will most likely repeat itself this January.
Start of Training Camp February* When Orlando City entered the MLS last season, the Lions began training about 8 weeks before the season. The Pride will most likely stay on a similar path with when they begin training.
Start of the season Mid-April* We will find out in January exactly when the season will start, however it will most likely be in mid-April.

As more dates become available, they will be announced accordingly.


UPDATE: August 8, 2020 - Major League Soccer unveiled the framework of a revised schedule for the remainder of the 2020 season, with the League’s 25th season continuing in the home markets of the 26 clubs beginning August 12. At this time, MLS has announced the initial phase of the revised schedule for U.S. clubs through September 14 and plans to announce the balance of the regular season schedule by early September. More details on schedules for the Canadian teams will be announced in the near future. Attendance at matches will be determined by MLS and club leadership in accordance with applicable state and local guidelines.
